Laced snowshoes offer more models and can be adapted to different snow conditions. In addition, their natural appearance might be a key factor for some customers. With a little bit of care and maintenance, these snowshoes can be handed down from generation to generation. |

-White Ash Frame -Full Hide Lacing |
|
Full hide lacing are made of cowhides from which we removed fur and excess fat. It is a very strong material which is water resistant. This full hide can be cut in narrow stripes to allow tight lacing recommended for dry snow or a very tight lacing for powdery snow. We can also cut it in large stripes to produce heavy duty spaced lacing well adapted for melting and wet snow.

Snowtrek snowshoes are mainly recommended for recreational use when temperatures are below freezing point. These lacings are made of steer hide, split in two, from which we only use the meat side. Compared to full hide, they are weaker and offer less water resistance. The stripes must be cut larger. They allow only spaced lacing.

4.B Bindings |

There are many models of bindings available which can be made from diverse materials, such as top grain, split leather, TPR and rubber. It goes without saying that with such a large selection, certain models will be more efficient and resistant than others. Your decision should be made according to specific needs.
In fact, a good binding must only allow boots to pivot on the master cord. This means that the front of the boot can freely enter the toe-hole of the snowshoe without obstruction while walking. |

Furthermore, it controls all movements of the boot :

Vertically. (To prevent foot from lifting in the binding); |

- |
Horizontally. (Good lateral control is necessary so the heel does not touch the snowshoe frame); |
|
- |
Forward and backward sliding. (To avoid allowing the foot to slip forward and backward in the binding). |
The choice of bindings is very important since they greatly affect the performance of snowshoes. It must also be stated that the choice of boots to be used when snowshoeing should also be taken into consideration. Most bindings are built to be used with a specific type of boot and become less efficient with other types of footwear. For example, a binding for large work boots would not be the same as the one used with moccasins. | WORK (Sorel type boots)

4.C Hybride Snowshoes |

Snowshoes' decking offer a more modern look, are waterproof and require no maintenance. Furthermore, they are designed to be fitted with spikes and snow crampons adding to the traction and they are sold with bindings already installed. They are also slush proof since the slush often met on lakes in winter do not stick either to their frame or decking compared to aluminium or rawhide snowshoes.
Also consider that a decking of same size will offer a little bit more flotation surface than the equivalent size of certain type of laced snowshoes. Compared to aluminium snowshoes their bindings are positioned more in the middle to maximize the flotation in deep snow.
The new Hybrid with "U" shape frame and Live pivot system have a front pivot balance for an utilization 50% off trail and 50% in packed trail.

These snowshoes feature a revolutionary combination of copolymer decking and a "Delrin" binding offering a full pivoting system suspended in the frame with a high lateral stability. Others features of this Integral pivoting system are:
- light step, back end stays on snow and snow doesn’t stick;
- minimum toe lift to exit snow print;
- better lateral control;
- suspension-assured ankle comfort;
- improved traction.
The decking also offers extra traction in deep snow with 14 oversize spikes and 6 temper steel tips and a front bar. This very light snowshoe is equipped with two-lever ratchets binding mounted on a curved non slip base with a foot stopper.
This patented binding design (curved non slip base with a foot stopper) will give you the same fit than a binding with 3 LR without the need to adjust the third ratchet.
The decking is installed in an ash frame, coated with varnish. Recommended use for work in off trail situation. |

This NEW RECREATIONAL SNOWSHOE has been designed to satisfy the user on packed trails, as well as off trail (soft and deep snow). The innovative and new U-shape design with arched side frame, assures a natural gate particularly appreciated by women. With this type of design the snowshoe, when in use, will not knock each other, resulting in less noise and much easier walking.
FABER patented LIVE pivoting system positioned in front of the snowshoe makes the toe shorter and easier to lift with each step, and also puts more weight on the front aluminum crampon to secure a better grip on packed crusty or icy snow. LIVE pivot also allows a full or free rotation of the binding which ensures good lateral control and lighter foot steps by partially lifting the snowshoe and keeping the tail down and discharging the snow from the decking enabling easier walking. A stopper will block the rotation at 70° which avoid shine bone contact, ease backward walk and also ease jumps over obstacles.
The snowshoe is equipped with a trio SR binding (1 sliding ratchet , 1 buckle and toe box) which is sturdy and easy to use. Traction is created by six wings from the decking screwed under the frame and the aluminum crampons.

These snowshoes are made of aluminium tubing 6061-T6 with ARCATECH shape exclusive to Faber.
Featuring an arched side bend compared to conventional straight bend of the other aluminium frame, this type of snowshoe, when in use, will not intershock each other, resulting in less noise and a much easier walking. The arched frame also allows a new decking design, increasing traction with more separate side attachment. Furthermore, each arched side is cambered vertically to improve the flotation and create a rebound action to each step.
Finally, the rear end has a curved shape, minimizing the dragging effect when walking forward and increasing manoeuvrability when going backward. The Arcatech frame is painted with a powder coating finish none adhesive to snow. These snowshoes are built with "DS" pivoting system: a high carbon steel double suspension rod + stopper who limits the rotation at 70° for:

Mountain Master series, our high end snowshoe, made of 7075 aluminium, a stronger and lighter alloy than 6061, has all the features of the Mountain Expert Series plus a triple lever ratchet buckle binding with double density plate and a full toe box 360° stopper which holds the boot on all sides with a continuous belt around it.
The crampons are made with powder coated temper steel which will avoid snow built up .The front claw is 6 inches long and rear crampons is 5 inches long. This set give you an optimum traction. The heel lifter integrated in the double density heel plate is user-friendly, manually or with the handle of a snowshoe pole, to ease mountain climbing. This serie is made of a thermoplastic rubber decking "TPR" specially formulated to resist to -40°C and treated against UV rays. A TPR binding with toe stopper, 1 lever ratchet and 1 webbing buckle easy-to-use equips this snowshoe. This binding is completed by a set of aluminium crampons of 3/4".
